The Lean 1 nutrition drink is a great product. I started it 2 weeks ago and have lost 6 lbs. I have a shake for breakfast and lunch and a fairly low carb dinner and am generally not hungry in between, with good energy. I love the chocolate, it is delicious, rich and dark and has real Dutch cocoa in it. I tried the vanilla and vanilla raspberry, but didn’t like them as much because of a coconut smell and taste. I just got the banana cream and that is very yummy, too. It is expensive, but has a wonderful array of ingredients in it. I searched, and to order just one bottle, Amazon.com is the best value with their free shipping.

As a runner, I have been evaluating many different nutritional supplements and have not until now found one that had a great balance of nutrition with great flavor. Lean1 has a roughly 30-40-30 fat to protein to carbohydrate ratio along with fiber to help satisfy hunger. It has a proprietary whey protein blend base like many other nutritional supplements but also includes a great blend of fruits and vegetables for added nutrition which I have not seen in other products. I have also found that Lean1 tastes a lot better than other popular protein shakes. My personal favorite is the chocolate flavor but I have tried all available flavors and they are also very good.

I use Lean1 primarily as pre-workout supplement and found it to work great. I often find it difficult to time a meal before workouts so that my stomach does not get upset, especially during long workouts. At approximately 200 calories per serving, Lean1 is satisfying enough to fuel a long workout but is not so dense that it is counterproductive to weight loss or weight maintenance efforts.

The other great use I found for Lean1 is good nutrition on-the-go. Personally I spend a lot of time traveling and find that the available alternatives when pressed for time are generally not good choices for health conscious people. Lean1 comes in individual serving size packets which are easily portable and provide much better nutrition in a pinch.

I’m in my second week of this and so far I’ve lost 12 POUNDS!! TWELVE POUNDS! Can’t believe it! I was feeling lazy and sluggish, even tried some vitamins to see if it helped, since I don’t drink coffee. This fixed it! I drink it in the morning and I feel like running around just for the heck of it. I wanted to point out that this does NOT fill me up, meaning I do not feel stuffed after I drink it. However, even a hand full of cheerios will make me stuffed if I had this shake in the morning. It curbs my hunger for the rest of the day, as well as my cravings. Since it has a lot of fruit/vegetable extracts (fiber), I try to drink a lot of water as well, and so far it helps me wonders (sorry for the TMI, but in the bathroom department). TWELVE POUNDS! I’d say just try it. I’m sure you’ll love it.

Nutrition 53 Lean 1 has totally blown me away! I have been using nutrition performance products for almost 15 years. Never have I come across a product that scores a “100%” in every category.

Taste: I have tried the Vanilla and the Chocolate. Both flavors are great, but I must admit that the Chocolate is the BEST of any products I have ever tried. It is almost too good!

Prep: I use a blender most of the time, but have used a shaker. Either works well, and gives a smooth, non-gritty end result. Because it mixes well with water and taste great it is perfect to pack along. I am a photographer, and can be out in the country, far, far, away from civilization, for many hours and Lean 1 provides quick, easy fuel.

Performance: I use two scoops for breakfast, before a workout, and this holds me until lunch! UNREAL! I don’t get hungry for about 3.5 hours. The same is true after lunch. So, I am good until dinner.

Weight Loss: After only 3 days of usage and I have lost weight. I almost past out! I am shall we say, “49 forever”, and have several issues that make weight loss a difficult proposition. So, I am THRILLED beyond belief!

Nutrition: Have you read the ingredient list? It is like reading the “The Top 40″ of best ingredients. You would think you were drinking a multi-vitamin. Pro:Carb:Fat ratio is excellent. I love that it contains so many antioxidents. Superior design all the way!

Other: Lean 1 does not sit heavy on your stomach. Some performance products are like eating a brick.

I was so happy to see Amazon carrying this product as I have used it off and on for about 4 years now. I finally got my thyroid medication adjusted and have been using this as a meal replacement with a piece of fruit for 2 meals (breakfast and lunch) a day with a normal dinner and light desert. I have lost 70 pounds since May 4, 2007. I can only tolerate the taste of the chocolate flavor but mixed with sugarfree instant powdered pudding or a ripe banana keeps me satisfied for hours. I noticed when I lived in Florida at the Cleveland Clinic this was offered at the small Starbucks carts in the lobby’s and many gastric patients and their doctors endorsed the product. Never had the surgery but ZOIC was the best tip I ever rec’d.

I am a type one diabetic who is trying to reduce the number of carbs and increase the amount of protein in my diet. I drink one of these for breakfast and it holds me over until lunch. I take less insulin now which is better when it comes to losing weight. I will definitely recommend this drink to others! This is not a milk shake from Baskin Robbins people, it is a low fat, low carb, high protein drink, it will not taste unbelievably delicious. I am a very picky eater and would not be recommending this if it tasted bad. This drink taste much better than the other GNC drinks I used to buy. I highly recommend it.

This is the best product of it’s type that I have found. It is not chalky or gritty. The taste is good. Higher protein content, lower fat and calories.

The vitamins/minerals are somewhat similar in these two drinks and can be found on the Nutrition Facts on the cans. The biggest difference is that Slim Fast Low Carb has about 73% more calories and 70 more Fat calories per drink.

The taste, which I was concerned about when I order my first case of 24 drinks, is similar with the main difference that the Slim Fast Low Carb has a smoother, creamier texture. I experimented with adding about 80 calories of cream to a ZOIC drink and it definitely acquired a smoother, creamier texture. The overall taste of both drinks, in my opinion, is a good taste; but not a great taste. I would give these products a 4.5 rating if I could.

The Slim Fast Low Carb drink with its extra 70 more calories from Fat seems to satisfy my hunger perhaps 30 minutes longer than the ZOIC drink (without any cream added). ZOIC’s package states “meal complement & snack replacement” not a meal replacement; in other words, it seems logical that one would add a small portion of other healthful food to make it a meal.

Both drinks refrain from adding any sugar or sugar alcohols (make sure you are comparing Slim Fast “Low Carb” and not other Slim Fast drinks which do have sugar added). Both drinks are free from Trans Fat.

I like to use both drinks to give me variety in taste and calories. The ZOIC drink at only 110 calories is a good choice when I want less calories and less fat calories; perhaps, when a planned meal time has to be pushed back in time by a couple of hours. If I need something to skip a meal, then I will usually choose Slim Fast Low Carb.

Both of these “Low Carb” drinks are good to have on hand in the refrigerator, so you can choose 110 or 190 calories versus some other super-sized 500 plus calorie item that may be in the refrigerator too.

I absolutely LOVE this shake. It tastes so good, that it is like having a treat! I drink it every morning for a quick, easy, filling breakfast. I also have it for dinner sometimes. DO NOT order this product from the Nutrition 53 website. They are more expensive, they charge outrageous shipping, and the fine print tricks you into enrolling in their automatic shipment program. Their customer service also stinks. Stick with amazon.com and try this amazing product. You will love it!
